US Auditor – Remote Full‑Time Contractor

About the role

Join a global remote team as a US Auditor supporting a diverse portfolio of US clients. You will plan and execute audits, translate complex standards into clear insights, and help clients strengthen controls while working exclusively as a full‑time independent contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Define audit scope, materiality, and risk assessment; design tailored audit programs.
• Perform walkthroughs and test design and operating effectiveness of key controls (revenue, purchasing, payroll, inventory).
• Execute substantive procedures, including analytical reviews, confirmations, cut‑off testing, and valuation checks.
• Assess ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting, and evaluate key estimates such as AR allowances and inventory valuation.
• Prepare GAAS‑compliant workpapers, PBC lists, and clear documentation for reviewers and regulators.
• Identify control deficiencies, propose remediation, and communicate findings with client‑friendly clarity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3+ years of US external audit experience in public practice or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS (AICPA); familiarity with PCAOB standards is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English and ability to work US business hours.

Required skills

• Audit software (Caseware, CCH ProSystem fx Engagement, Workpaper Manager or similar).
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, reconciliations).
• Data‑analytics tools (IDEA, ACL, Power Query) – nice‑to‑have.
• Experience with cloud ERP systems (QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite).
