Invoice Processing Specialist (Remote)

About the role

Codes Health is seeking an Invoice Processing Specialist to ensure medical‑records invoices are accurate, compliant, and paid quickly. Your work directly impacts the speed at which records are released to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify accuracy and completeness of invoices from hospitals, provider offices, and third‑party vendors.
• Compare charges against state and local fee statutes, flagging overcharges or non‑compliant fees.
• Process payments via portals, phone, mail, and confirm receipt.
• Dispute duplicate or incorrect invoices and follow up until resolved.
• Log every invoice, payment, and dispute in internal systems for auditability.
• Coordinate with the records retrieval team to release records promptly after payment.
• Maintain up‑to‑date provider payment information and handle financial data securely.
• Identify workflow improvements and collaborate with engineering to automate repetitive steps.

Required profile

• Prior experience in accounts payable, billing, or invoice processing.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies.
• Comfort reading and applying state fee schedules and other regulations.
• Strong written and spoken English; able to call US providers professionally.
• Organized, reliable, and able to manage high invoice volumes.
• Tech‑comfortable, quick to learn new portals and tools.
• Ownership mindset focused on getting things right.

Required skills

• Experience with US medical‑records invoicing or healthcare billing is a strong plus.
