Sales Finance Specialist (Trade Claims & Spend)

About the role

The Sales Finance Specialist supports commercial and sales operations by managing trade claims, deductions, accruals and trade‑spend analysis. Working closely with Sales, Commercial Planning and Finance, you will ensure accurate financial reporting and provide insights into trade‑spend performance.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer trade claims and deductions accurately and within agreed service levels.
• Set up and monitor long‑term trade activities in trade systems, minimizing over‑ or under‑accruals.
• Review, validate and regularly check trade accruals for completeness and accuracy.
• Analyze trade‑spend movements versus targets and support forecast discussions.
• Investigate and resolve disputed trade claims with Sales and Customer teams.
• Validate claims using multiple data sources and challenge discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Sales, Commercial Planning, Business Excellence and Finance stakeholders.
• Identify process, data‑quality and reporting gaps to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Marketing, Sales or related field.
• 2+ years experience in Sales Finance, Trade Spend, Customer Operations or Commercial Finance.
• Experience in FMCG or fast‑paced commercial environments (preferred).
• Strong understanding of promotional activities, customer dynamics and category performance.
• Excellent analytical ability, high attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
• Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across Sales, Finance and Operations.
• Effective communication skills to explain financial insights to non‑finance partners.
