Financial Lines Underwriter

About the role

AIG is seeking a Financial Lines Underwriter to join its underwriting team in Makati City. This position offers the opportunity to step into a senior‑level role, applying technical expertise and people skills to manage risk for financial line products.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal Financial Lines business in line with established guidelines and authority levels.
• Evaluate risks by reviewing applications, financial statements, and other relevant information.
• Determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions for insurance policies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agents and brokers, providing timely and professional service.
• Document underwriting files accurately and collaborate with senior underwriters, managers, and internal stakeholders on complex accounts.
• Assist in developing underwriting strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and stay updated on industry trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
• Prior experience in insurance underwriting, preferably in Financial Lines.
• Strong analytical, risk assessment, and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with underwriting systems.
