Technician I – Test Operations Support

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking a Technician I to provide technical support for test operations. The role ensures test equipment is ready for production, maintains equipment reliability, and contributes to overall equipment effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and verify test equipment (tester, contactor/pins, hardware, handler) before production runs.
• Implement and follow a preventive maintenance (PM) program for all test equipment.
• Support equipment qualification, machine buy‑off, and compliance with operational standards.
• Analyze performance data, identify root causes, and execute corrective and preventive actions related to productivity, quality, and safety.
• Initiate equipment improvements and modifications based on data‑driven analysis.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to align equipment performance with strategic business goals.
• Monitor and help improve OEE metrics such as utilization, MTBF/MTTR, availability, efficiency, yield, and quality.
