Manufacturing Technician I

About the role

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to support its production lines. The role involves ensuring equipment runs smoothly, performing maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and correct malfunctions by carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting failures, and replacing parts.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment such as Saw/Dicing and laser marking machines.
• Assist with equipment installation, calibration, qualification, and improvements to boost efficiency and safety.
• Conduct machine conversions, set‑ups, and buy‑offs to meet operational needs and maintain product quality.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and repairs.
• Lead equipment improvement projects to enhance capability and reliability.
• Follow standard operating procedures, company regulations, and ensure 5S compliance in the work area.

Required profile

• Technical or associate degree in electronics, mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, or a related field.
• At least one year of related experience is considered an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret machine diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of Saw/Dicing and laser marking equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to precision and safety protocols.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
