Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant provides effective and timely financial management and reporting for projects, acting as a business partner for the I+E business across locations. The role involves building strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring compliance with SJ Group policies.

Key responsibilities

• Support project teams with budgeting, planning, month‑end performance analysis and financial reporting.
• Assist in creating new projects, ensuring policy compliance and managing commercial risks.
• Provide financial analysis, cost allocation, earned value and scenario analysis for projects.
• Oversee invoicing, cash‑flow management, and financial support for major projects, joint ventures and alliances.
• Deliver training on financial systems, support finance queries, and contribute to system roll‑outs.
• Act as a business partner, offering strategic advice, preparing financial reports and supporting budget forecasting.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of experience in project accounting, FP&A, financial reporting or similar finance disciplines.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work in a culturally diverse, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Proficient use of spreadsheets and data analysis tools.
• Intermediate level Microsoft Office applications.
• Intermediate skills in financial applications.
• Strong administration, reconciliation and procedural skills.
