Production Operator (Operator I)

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking a Production Operator (Operator I) to ensure smooth operation of assigned machines and production areas. You will be responsible for meeting capacity targets, maintaining high product quality, and supporting a culture of trust, empowerment, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned machines/areas, ensuring they run efficiently and meet production capacity.
• Follow operation specifications and SOPs, hand‑shaking line status from the previous shift.
• Monitor product quality, aiming for zero lot rejection and promptly reporting issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date certification badges and perform set‑up, isolation, and minor troubleshooting.
• Log real‑time machine downtime, lot history, and transaction data in MES/R8 for traceability.
• Execute MSC/5S activities and adhere to company rules and regulations.
• Escalate problems to the Supervisor or Lead Operator as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to multi‑task while paying careful attention to detail.
• Proven success working both independently and within a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to follow detailed procedures and safety guidelines.

Required skills

• Operation of manufacturing equipment and production lines.
• Experience with MES/R8 traceability system.
• Knowledge of OCAP (Operational Capability) standards.
• Familiarity with MSC/5S workplace organization practices.
