Procurement Sourcing Specialist

About the role

Manulife is looking for a Procurement Sourcing Specialist to join its MBPS Procurement COE Team. You will drive and support global sourcing and contracting events in the low-impact stream of Manulife's indirect spend categories, keeping the relationship with third-party vendors strong throughout the procurement process and supporting Category Managers in line with the "Buy Better" strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Support or lead sourcing initiatives within business requirements and tight timelines, safeguarding the integrity of the bidding process
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with third-party vendors
• Negotiate and secure deals that deliver savings and meet business needs
• Ensure projects comply with internal procurement policies
• Manage mailboxes and work intake tools, document project developments accurately and communicate updates to business partners
• Analyze spend and contract terms and conditions
• Champion established procurement strategies for each sourcing event and share best practices with Category Managers
• Coordinate with Risk, Legal, Finance and Tax experts on contractual compliance
• Monitor market trends, competitors and suppliers, and help business unit clients understand procurement processes and systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain, preferably in shared services
• Adequate experience executing sourcing, negotiation and contracting
• Experience in real estate, facilities, marketing and/or human resources is an advantage
• Willingness to work night shifts

Required skills

• Familiarity with e-sourcing tools and North American contracts (Statement of Work, Project Requirements, Exhibits)
• Knowledge of procurement or finance applications, databases and reporting tools for spend analytics
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Project management knowledge
