Rider Operations Manager – Fleet Planning & Optimization

About the role

The Rider Operations Manager will lead a fleet of roughly 150 riders, driving efficiency and scalability for an on‑demand grocery and last‑mile delivery business in Metro Manila. You will be responsible for forecasting rider needs, optimizing routes, and ensuring high‑quality delivery performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead rider operations, including future expansion and scaling of a 150‑rider fleet.
• Forecast rider requirements based on order volume, warehouse demand, peak periods and business growth.
• Develop manpower, scheduling, deployment and fleet utilization plans.
• Optimize route planning, batching, dispatching and last‑mile delivery performance.
• Design and review delivery‑fee, pricing, surge and rider incentive frameworks while maintaining profitability.
• Monitor operational metrics such as Cost per Delivery, On‑Time Delivery Rate, Rider Utilization, Order Fulfillment Time and Order Accuracy.
• Use data to identify bottlenecks, improve fleet productivity and reduce delivery costs.
• Coordinate with warehouse and fulfillment teams to improve order staging, rider handoff and dispatch processes.
• Oversee rider recruitment, onboarding, performance management, engagement and retention.
• Manage operational disruptions, demand surges and third‑party logistics partners as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in logistics, last‑mile delivery, fleet operations or e‑commerce.
• Proven experience managing rider or delivery fleets, including large ground‑operations teams and/or third‑party logistics partners.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use operational data for planning and business decisions.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
