Preconstruction Estimator & Project Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Preconstruction Estimator / Project Coordinator to join Gulati Construction Company. The role supports the pre‑construction phase of residential and light‑commercial projects in Southern California, driving accurate cost estimates and coordinating bid activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates.
• Review architectural plans, specifications and RFP documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing.
• Maintain bid tracking logs and follow up on outstanding bids.
• Assist in preparing proposals and contract documents.
• Support project managers throughout the pre‑construction process.

Required profile

• 3+ years of estimating or pre‑construction experience in residential or light‑commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and local pricing in Southern California.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and capable of working independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Proficiency with PlanSwift.
• Advanced Excel skills.

• Base salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
