HR Local Entity Generalist

About the role

The HR Local Entity Generalist will support Hitachi Rail’s regional HR operations by ensuring accurate employee data, smooth payroll processing, and compliance with local labour regulations. This role combines administrative, compensation, and compliance duties to enhance the overall employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain real‑time employee master data in the corporate HR system and generate regular HR reports.
• Handle day‑to‑day HR administration, including record keeping, document preparation, and responding to employee inquiries.
• Coordinate onboarding, off‑boarding, training and engagement activities across functions.
• Liaise with payroll service providers to ensure accurate bi‑monthly payroll disbursement.
• Manage the full lifecycle of global job profiles, conduct internal benchmarking and support promotion/demotion processes.
• Plan, track and control local staff cost budgets and lead the annual merit review process.
• Oversee monthly headcount and staff‑cost reporting, ensuring data accuracy and timely submission.
• Administer local compensation and benefits programs, resolve employee benefit queries and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Manage annual personal income tax filing for employees and coordinate with tax service providers for expatriates.
• Identify HR compliance risks, develop mitigation strategies and advise management on labour law adherence.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of national and local labour laws and HR best practices.
• Experience in HR administration, payroll coordination and benefits management.
• Ability to analyse HR metrics and produce actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

• Proficiency with a corporate HR system for data management.
