Assistant Engineering Manager

About the role

The Assistant Engineering Manager will support the Engineering department of Raffles and Fairmont Makati, ensuring that all hotel equipment and systems operate reliably and meet the high standards expected by luxury guests. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role combines hands‑on technical oversight with leadership of the maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the condition of all mechanical, electrical and auxiliary equipment, promptly reporting defects and recommending corrective actions.
• Implement preventive maintenance programmes in line with hotel standards and manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Deliver courteous and efficient engineering services to guests, following established service procedures.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to minimise downtime and ensure safety compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; professional license from the PRC is an advantage.
• At least five years of relevant experience in a luxury hotel engineering environment.
• Strong leadership abilities and proven technical strategy development for hotel MEP and fire‑safety systems.
