Software Engineer Level 2 (Python)

About the role

Ideagen is looking for a Software Engineer Level 2 to join its product engineering team in Clark Freeport Zone, Philippines. You will help develop, maintain, and transition flight‑tracking and data services, working with Python in a Linux‑based, high‑performance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve features across the platform.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle within an Agile Scrum team.
• Support sprint planning and delivery aligned with the product roadmap.
• Investigate, fix, and prevent software defects, supported by unit testing.
• Create clear documentation and share best practices.
• Work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when needed.

Required profile

• 4+ years of commercial software development experience, including 3+ years with Python.
• Experience building web‑based applications using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML & CSS.
• Exposure to cloud‑native development and CI/CD pipelines (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of Git, code reviews, and Agile Scrum practices.
• Familiarity with application security (OWASP) and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Clear communicator with a relevant Computer Science or Engineering degree and at least first‑year university maths/physics background.
