Operator I – Production

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking an Operator I to support its high‑volume manufacturing environment. The role involves operating equipment, monitoring processes, and ensuring product quality while adhering to safety and lean‑manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 6S activities before and after each shift to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Operate DPG‑Module equipment manually or semi‑automatically according to standard procedures.
• Monitor process visuals, conduct SPC checks, and perform sampling tests as defined by specifications.
• Enter production data into computer systems (AX, e‑logsheets, SPC, Qualis) and maintain accurate lot counts.
• Classify and record rejected parts, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
• Make decisions based on existing specifications and criteria, and assist with additional tasks as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; minimum age of 18.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining careful attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to follow written and verbal instructions and read detailed work specifications.
• Regular and predictable attendance; ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency.
• Familiarity with AX, e‑logsheets, SPC, and Qualis systems.
• Understanding of 6S lean‑manufacturing principles.
• Basic math and reading comprehension.
