Mechanical Draftsperson - HVAC (Onsite)

About the role

A full-time, onsite Mechanical/HVAC Draftsperson is sought to support project delivery. Drafting is the main focus, but the role also covers equipment schedules and project close-out manuals. Drawings are used directly by duct manufacturers and site installers, so precision and thoroughness are required.

Key responsibilities

• Produce CAD drawings for mechanical/HVAC installations, including ductwork layouts, plant rooms and equipment, with dimensions, bend/radius sizing, insulation allowances and set-downs.
• Coordinate every duct, pipe and piece of plant against the structure and other trades, and include details such as duct height, level and outlet types and airflows.
• Keep drawings and schedules in lockstep, and split information across several drawings where needed; self-review all work before submission.
• Prepare equipment schedules for client review, then liaise with suppliers for equipment data and feed it into drawings.
• Help compile O&M manuals at project close-out, including manufacturer data sheets and plain-language descriptions of how occupants use the air conditioning systems.

Required profile

• Methodical, meticulous and self-critical, taking pride in accurate, well-presented work.
• Willing to learn why each detail on a drawing matters, not just how to draw it.

Required skills

• CAD proficiency (e.g. AutoCAD) with experience drafting mechanical/HVAC services.
• Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat for PDF markup and document preparation.
