Structural Steel Detailer (Advance Steel) - Remote

About the role

A Structural Steel Detailer is needed to produce accurate fabrication drawings and technical documentation for a range of structural steel projects. The role is remote and focuses on drawing accuracy, supporting fabrication teams and keeping projects aligned with timelines and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D fabrication drawings for structural steel projects using AutoDesk Advance Steel
• Interpret engineering and architectural drawings to produce accurate documentation
• Prepare and issue shop drawings and related documentation for fabrication and construction
• Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders by email and phone
• Use Microsoft Office for documentation and project communication
• Work within project timelines to deliver accurate, high-quality drawings
• Contribute to improvements in design and drafting processes
• Coordinate with fabricators and builders to ensure constructability
• Maintain organized drawing files, revisions and project documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field; technical or vocational drafting training is also considered
• 3+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication drawing or detailing, or related experience
• Trade background (boilermaker, fabricator, metalwork) is highly regarded
• Excellent written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoDesk Advance Steel
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction processes
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• 3D modelling experience is a nice to have
