Remote Architectural Draftsperson

About the role

A remote Architectural Draftsperson works from home, collaborating with a local team on architectural projects. The role covers creative design solutions, technical drawings and project documentation, ensuring work meets client requirements, project deadlines and relevant building codes and standards. It is a full-time position with a 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM AEST schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to conceptual and schematic design, developing design solutions aligned with client needs and project goals.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, sections and elevations using Revit, ArchiCAD or SketchUp, in line with codes and standards.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including construction details, material specifications and technical reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants through remote tools, attend virtual meetings and design reviews, and coordinate with local team members across engineering and structural disciplines.
• Manage workload to meet deadlines, take part in quality control, and share design insights with the team.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Architecture or a related field; registered architects are highly regarded.
• Minimum of 6 years of architectural experience, including multiresidential work; retail, commercial and hotel experience highly regarded.
• Essential: at least 2 years of experience on Australian projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian construction methods, materials and building regulations.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work independently and remotely.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Revit; ArchiCAD is desirable but not essential.
• Familiarity with BIM is advantageous.
• Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and details.
