HR Generalist – Retail & Supermarket Operations

About the role

Spinneys Philippines is seeking a people‑focused HR Generalist to support its supermarket operations. You will manage day‑to‑day HR activities, from recruitment to employee relations, ensuring a smooth and compliant workforce across store and head‑office teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end recruitment for store and support roles such as cashiers, stock clerks, supervisors and office staff.
• Facilitate onboarding and orientation to ensure seamless employee integration.
• Handle employee‑relations issues and provide guidance on company policies.
• Administer payroll, compensation, benefits, attendance and employee records.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
• Assist in performance‑management processes, including appraisals and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate training and development programs for store employees.
• Partner with store managers to address manpower needs and HR concerns.
• Support payroll inputs such as attendance, leaves and overtime.
• Maintain accurate HR documentation and employee databases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in retail or supermarket environments.
• Strong knowledge of HR functions, labor laws and compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple HR tasks in a fast‑paced setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HR systems.
• Familiarity with timekeeping and payroll systems.
