Head of Renewable Energy Certificates

About the role

AboitizPower is seeking a strategic and commercially driven leader to head its Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) business. Reporting to Commercial Operations, you will design and execute the REC strategy, unlocking value from both international I‑RECs and local certificates while building lasting corporate partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement long‑term REC strategies to drive profitability and portfolio growth across retail customers, generation companies, distribution utilities and international traders.
• Align short‑ and long‑term supply plans with offtake targets, prevent certificate expiration and manage portfolio risk through detailed demand‑supply reporting.
• Oversee 24/7 platform operations, managing issuance, transfer, redemption and form processing via the Evident App (I‑RECs) and PREMS (local RECs).
• Lead new market customer acquisition, negotiate commercial supply terms, manage contract execution and coordinate with Portfolio, Risk, Legal and Finance teams.
• Ensure full compliance with Renewable Portfolio Standards, WESM rules and regulatory reporting requirements for PEMC/IEMOP.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the electric power industry, preferably in market operations, energy trading or energy regulation.
• Deep understanding of power industry dynamics, REC structures, commercial contract drafting and settlement/pricing mechanisms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Economics or Applied Science.
• Proactive, innovative and results‑oriented professional able to thrive under market pressures and build multi‑level customer relationships.
