Manufacturing Design Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Manufacturing Design Engineer to join the engineering and tooling team of a U.S.-based manufacturing company. The position focuses on delivering clean, accurate, and manufacturable CAD models and documentation, enabling the on‑site team to accelerate production.

Key responsibilities

• Convert 3D scan point‑cloud data into precise SolidWorks models.
• Create and modify 3D CAD assemblies and generate detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and BOMs.
• Support design of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and other manufacturing aids using reference dimensions and photos.
• Build clear digital work instructions in the VKS platform.
• Conduct time‑and‑motion studies from recorded operations and deliver structured outputs.
• Execute tasks through the company’s engineering ticketing system as an embedded team member.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, 2D prints, GD&T‑compliant documentation).
• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent design experience.
• Solid understanding of drafting standards, manufacturing processes, and tolerancing.
• Excellent technical writing and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate clearly in asynchronous environments.
