Testing & Commissioning Technician – Elevators & Escalators

About the role

The Testing & Commissioning Technician ensures elevators and escalators are safe, functional and compliant before handover. This role involves inspecting installations, performing functional and safety tests, calibrating components, and documenting results for project turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑dispatch and pre‑commissioning inspections of delivered or installed equipment.
• Verify that installation work conforms to manufacturer standards and project specifications.
• Identify deviations, raise non‑conformance reports and coordinate corrective actions.
• Perform complete functional and safety testing (leveling accuracy, door operation, overload, emergency systems, etc.).
• Calibrate and adjust electrical, mechanical and safety components to meet compliance standards.
• Operate systems under load, evaluate performance and power consumption.
• Complete T&C checklists and submit official commissioning reports.
• Diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and perform corrective adjustments on motors, brakes, door systems, sensors and control panels.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, adjustments and NCRs.
• Prepare compliance reports for client acceptance and support audits or regulatory checks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in testing and commissioning of elevators or escalators.
• Good understanding of installation processes to verify workmanship.
• Ability to identify deficiencies, produce NCRs and work with installers and project engineers on rectifications.
• Strong record‑keeping skills for inspections, test results and compliance documentation.
