Civil Technician

About the role

WSP is seeking a Civil Technician to support drafting activities on diverse infrastructure projects. The role involves collaborating with project leads to define drawing strategies and produce accurate construction documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist project set‑up by agreeing on drawing strategy, type, size and numbering with the project lead and suggest efficient production methods.
• Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production with the Project Lead.
• Develop general arrangement drawings from engineers’ sketches and other design inputs, turning sketches into coordinated details.
• Ensure clarity, completeness and accuracy of drawings and presentation materials, adhering to prescribed drafting standards and procedures.
• Follow QA, document control, archiving and CDM guidelines on all work.
• Collaborate with project team members and perform tasks assigned by senior technical leads.

Required profile

• Graduate of any technical course or at least three years of study in BS Engineering or BS Architecture.
• 3‑7 years of relevant civil drafting experience, including work on projects of various sizes.
• Experience working as CAD support within a wider CAD team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation or ProjectWise.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D is an advantage.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and QA/document control processes.
