Tax Accountant – Australian Tax & Financial Reporting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our hybrid team in the Philippines. The role focuses on Australian tax compliance and financial reporting for SME and mid‑market clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Australian income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
• Draft accurate financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards.
• Develop complete workpapers to support tax compliance and reporting.
• Manage a portfolio of Australian SME and mid‑market clients with turnovers of AUD 5‑10 million.
• Respond to client queries, provide tax and accounting support, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and assist in tax planning and advisory engagements.
• Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining high accuracy and following internal QA processes.
• Identify workflow improvements and maintain thorough documentation for all engagements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Australian public practice.
• Proven experience preparing Australian financial statements, income tax returns, and workpapers.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Australian tax legislation and accounting standards.
• Experience managing SME or mid‑market Australian clients, preferably with turnovers of AUD 5‑10 million.
