About the role
Maersk Philippines Crewing is seeking a competent Steward to join the galley department on its advanced container vessels. The role involves supporting food service operations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety onboard.
Key responsibilities
- Operate catering equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley department.
Required profile
- Minimum 12 months experience as a Steward on ocean‑going vessels.
- Working knowledge of spoken English.
- Basic understanding of ISM, ISPS and security‑related duties.
- Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency procedures (fire, abandon ship, man overboard, oil spill).
- Awareness of safety meetings, near‑miss reporting, incidents and accidents.
- Certificates compliant with STCW 2010 Manila amendments.
