Senior Tax Accountant – Tax Reviewer

About the role

Wandering CPA is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant / Tax Reviewer to act as a technical leader, bridging senior management and junior staff. The role involves preparing and reviewing complex tax returns while mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare complex Individual (1040), Partnership (1065), S‑Corporation (1120S), and Corporate (1120) tax returns.
• Review tax returns and workpapers prepared by junior staff.
• Review trial balances and financial statements.
• Prepare and review adjusting journal entries.
• Clear diagnostics and identify potential issues before final review.
• Ensure compliance with firm quality standards and deadlines.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of US public accounting tax experience.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing Individual, Partnership, S‑Corp, and Corporate returns.
• Ability to independently manage complex returns from start to finish.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• CPA candidate preferred.
