Senior Manager, Government Affairs

About the role

GCash, a FinTech company aiming to create innovative, meaningful and convenient financial solutions for Filipinos, is looking for a Senior Manager, Government Affairs. The role combines stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy and research to shape public policy in support of financial inclusion and digitalization.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, develop and implement the company's national agenda.
• Build and nurture partnerships with regulators, legislators and other public and private entities.
• Present findings to clients and interact with them to understand their requirements better.
• Engage proactively with regulatory and legislative bodies on public policy, advocating for policies supporting financial inclusion and digitalization.
• Drive initiatives aligned with the company's mission to promote economic, social and environmental outcomes through effective advocacy.
• Work with senior leaders and team members to refine research methodologies tailored to stakeholder needs.
• Monitor relevant legislation and regulatory changes and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, public forums and meetings with government officials.
• Conduct qualitative research on public policy issues and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
• Develop and draft reports, presentations and memos for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage multiple client accounts and deliver projects on time, while staying updated on industry and policy trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Business Administration or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy or related fields, ideally in the financial services sector.
• Proven track record of building relationships with government entities and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and public policy issues affecting the financial industry and digital services.
• Experience in strategic planning and executing advocacy campaigns is highly desirable.
