Senior Cargo Assistant

About the role

Emirates is hiring a Senior Cargo Assistant in Manila, Philippines. The role provides existing and potential customers with a consistent, high-quality service, directly and together with GHA, and gives customers information and system support on rates, booking details, connections, regulations and other enquiries. The job holder must have the right to live and work in the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee GHA's service so it meets Emirates standards, including build instructions, space maximisation, load control, safety and ad hoc flight instructions
• Receive and break down imported cargo, resolving related issues
• Prepare and verify accurate cargo documentation, track consignment status and ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies
• Update flight handling reports, identify irregularities and discrepancies and dispatch post-flight information to the right departments
• Process cargo telephone reservations promptly, accurately and efficiently
• Resolve customer queries, complaints and claims, including those escalated by Cargo Agents
• Complete administrative tasks such as data entry, statistics and reports as directed by the Cargo Supervisor Officer
• Support, guide and coach Cargo Agents, and cover operational duties such as freighter operations when directed

Required profile

• Educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in airline cargo operations, including at least 2 years as a Cargo Agent or equivalent
• Fluency in English and the local language is essential
• Right to live and work in the Philippines

Required skills

• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations; a DG certificate is ideal
• Knowledge of weight balance procedures and Live Animal Regulations
• PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and email
