Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in managing project costs from inception to completion. You will work closely with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure financial viability and cost control across diverse construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse project drawings and specifications to produce accurate cost estimates for materials, labour and related construction elements.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, budget proposals and feasibility studies to assess project viability.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ), evaluate contractor tenders, negotiate contract terms and manage contractual variations and claims.
• Monitor project expenditures against budgets, identify potential overruns and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Produce comprehensive cost reports for clients, project managers and stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of experience in estimation and costing of Bills of Quantities.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for managing contracts and stakeholder relationships.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, legal frameworks and project management principles.
• High attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
