Project Design Manager

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Project Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams on complex building projects. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, overseeing the full design lifecycle from concept through construction and final review.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects from initial design to construction and final review.
• Serve as the day‑to‑day client liaison for project matters.
• Lead and coordinate a large, multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and drafters across mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, security, architectural, and ICT disciplines.
• Collaborate with local and regional design teams to ensure overall design integrity.
• Produce detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, BIM models, and other technical documents.
• Chair internal and external design meetings.
• Manage project components, budgets, schedules, quality assurance, and client feedback.
• Assist with workload management, resource forecasting, and proposal preparation.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, reports, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain client relationships and identify business opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong client‑facing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Experience in workload planning, resource forecasting, and proposal development.
• Understanding of construction and engineering project management principles.
