Pest Control Officer – Food Manufacturing

About the role

The Pest Control Officer will oversee pest management activities within a food manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role focuses on preventing pest infestations and maintaining a hygienic production area.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs in accordance with Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) guidelines.
• Conduct regular inspections, set traps, and apply approved pesticides safely.
• Maintain records of pest activity, treatments, and compliance with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and food safety regulations.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to address pest-related issues promptly.
• Prepare reports and recommend improvements to pest control strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related agricultural science.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pest Control Technician or Officer in a food manufacturing setting.
• Training or certification in BPI Accreditation, IPM, Pesticide Safety, GAP or Food Safety.
• Certified Pesticide Applicator‑Fumigator issued by the Fertilizer and Pesticides Authority.
• Strong communication abilities and attention to detail.
