Maintenance Officer – Food & Beverage Operations

About the role

The Maintenance Officer – Food & Beverage ensures that all restaurant equipment, fixtures and infrastructure are kept in optimal condition. You will oversee preventive maintenance, timely repairs and compliance with health, safety and fire regulations across Fredley Group’s outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment (ovens, fryers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, etc.) and HVAC‑R systems.
• Perform timely repairs of malfunctioning equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting and restaurant fixtures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records for each location.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from store managers to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors or contractors for specialized repairs when needed.
• Ensure outlets are operationally ready and safe before daily opening times.
• Guarantee all activities meet food safety, health, fire safety standards and local building codes.
• Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions proactively.
• Track and manage inventory of tools, spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Recommend procurement of replacement parts or new equipment.
• Assist in asset tagging and maintain kitchen infrastructure records.
• Support fit‑out, renovation or expansion projects, including equipment installation and site readiness.
• Collaborate with project teams for proper handover of new restaurant locations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a vocational diploma with strong electromechanical focus.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience with electrical and mechanical systems in commercial kitchens or restaurants.
• Relevant certifications (electrical safety, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing) are highly desirable.
