International Consultant – Mental Health & Climate Change

About the role

The World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Office seeks an International Consultant to provide technical and coordination support for mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities related to climate change and emergencies. The role focuses on advancing regional programmes, supporting implementation, monitoring, and documentation of activities across countries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare an inception report and detailed workplan covering MHPSS, climate change, and disaster‑related activities.
• Develop background materials, concept notes, agendas, and presentation slides for regional meetings or workshops.
• Document meetings and workshops, producing comprehensive reports with participant lists, discussion summaries, and action points.
• Collect, organize, and analyse country‑level data to produce a consolidated situation‑assessment report.
• Support coordination with the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Unit and other regional stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in public health, mental health, disaster risk management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in MHPSS programmes, especially in the context of climate change or emergencies.
• Proven ability to work with multi‑sectoral teams and coordinate regional activities.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
