Energy Consultant

About the role

Arup is expanding its Manila Energy Team to strengthen advisory capabilities for grid expansion, resilience and decarbonisation across the Philippines and the wider Asia‑Pacific region. The Energy Consultant will act as a Renewable Energy Engineer on advisory projects, providing technical leadership and specialist input throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support conversion of opportunities from early client engagement through proposal development, technical positioning and mobilisation of delivery teams.
• Take selective project‑management responsibility for complex, high‑value or strategically important assignments.
• Collaborate with renewable energy developers, utilities, regulators, financiers and Arup’s global specialists.
• Define solution strategies, shape project scopes and ensure technical excellence is clearly articulated.
• Provide technical authority, mentor staff and identify cross‑sell opportunities across power systems, civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, digital and advisory services.
• Prepare and review Independent Engineer / OE Engineer reports, technical opinions and bankability assessments.
• Undertake technical due diligence for lenders, investors and project sponsors, reviewing design, technology, construction, cost estimates, schedules and project risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Renewable Energy, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or related discipline).
• Strong technical background across different renewable energy technologies and advisory services.
• Understanding of renewable energy permitting, pre‑development and FID‑related requirements.
