Director, Central Facilities Management Office

About the role

The Director of the Central Facilities Management Office (CFMO) leads the university’s facilities, utilities, custodial services, and campus development functions. Reporting to the Vice President for Administration, the role ensures that the campus infrastructure supports the institution’s strategic goals and maintains a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor updates affecting the university’s facilities and campus master plan, staying informed on industry trends and best practices.
• Provide data‑driven forecasts, insights, and recommendations to senior decision‑makers on facilities management, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and safety.
• Review and advise on university facilities plans, programs, and services, recommending interventions as needed.
• Oversee design studies, implementation plans, and evaluation reports for facilities improvements, tracking infrastructure, utilities, capacity, and utilization.
• Implement proactive preventive‑maintenance processes and monitor progress of campus development projects.
• Develop and enforce an integrated framework for infrastructure, space, and environmental planning.
• Set direction, metrics, and budget for the CFMO, update policies, and ensure continuous operational improvement.
• Manage performance of group heads and administrators, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
• Align facilities management plans with the university’s overall strategic plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in facilities management, utilities, campus development, or a comparable senior leadership role within a large organization.
• Proven ability to build strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to produce forecasts and recommendations for senior leadership.
