Site Manager – Utility‑Scale Solar Projects

About the role

Upgrade Energy Philippines (UGEP) is seeking a skilled Site Manager to lead on‑site execution of its utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Sta. Rita, Samar. The role ensures construction activities meet project plans, quality, safety, schedule and budget requirements while coordinating with project management, engineering, procurement and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership to on‑site teams and oversee daily construction activities, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Monitor progress, resolve issues proactively, and report daily status to the Project Manager.
• Review technical drawings, verify implementation against specifications and national standards.
• Implement and manage QA/QC procedures, conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with design and regulatory standards.
• Enforce HSE policies, lead safety inductions and toolbox talks, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Act as the main on‑site contact for subcontractors, suppliers and local stakeholders, coordinating communication and issue resolution.
• Maintain organized records, daily logs, inspection reports and submit regular progress, safety and technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering (solar/renewable focus is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of site management experience in utility‑scale construction, preferably solar PV or renewable energy.
• Strong knowledge of construction management, electrical and civil works, and safety compliance.
• Familiarity with Philippine building codes, OSH standards and solar PV best practices.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving abilities and proven leadership skills.
