Buyer – Retail Merchandise Procurement

About the role

Japan Home Centre is seeking a proactive Buyer to manage product assortment, pricing, and performance across assigned departments. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing merchandise from both local and international suppliers, ensuring the right products reach our stores on time.

Key responsibilities

• Review and manage product assortment, pricing, and performance.
• Plan, select, and purchase merchandise from local and international suppliers.
• Conduct market research and sales analysis to align offerings with customer demand and trends.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and optimize terms.
• Oversee product sourcing, stock flow, and timely delivery to stores.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate product information and smooth procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or procurement, preferably in retail or trading.
• Experience in supplier management and product sourcing (local and international) is an advantage.
• Background in importation processes and house‑brand/product development is preferred.
