Buyer Manager – Procurement & Merchandising

About the role

The Buyer Manager will lead the selection, sourcing and purchasing of merchandise that meets customer demand, brand strategy and profitability targets for CP AXTRA’s wholesale operations in the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and monitor vendor‑related matters and purchase activities.
• Assist the Manager in executing merchandising plans, maintaining inventory levels, negotiating terms and driving merchandising initiatives.
• Source new merchandise and review existing items to ensure competitiveness.
• Accurately create purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Ensure full compliance with bidding documentation and company procurement policies.
• Conduct financial reconciliations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank statements.
• Review and validate procurement documents and contracts for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, evaluate processes and recommend improvements.
• Prepare and maintain procurement reports, monitoring sheets and vendor performance evaluations.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and support cross‑functional teams on day‑to‑day inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree graduate.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a related field, preferably in large‑format retail.
• Strong negotiation abilities and basic strategic planning skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience with vendor management and procurement compliance.
