About the role
Maersk Philippines Crewing is seeking a competent Wiper to join the engine department of its advanced container vessels. The role offers hands‑on experience with modern machinery and a pathway for personal development within a leading global shipping company.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and maintain engine‑room tools.
- Perform function operation and repairs of various machineries and pumps.
- Assist with technical tasks and follow engine‑room procedures.
Required profile
- Minimum 12 months sea service on foreign‑going ships.
- Working knowledge of spoken English.
- Basic understanding of ISM, ISPS, safety and emergency procedures.
- Certificates compliant with STCW 2010 Manila amendments.
- At least 12 months experience as a welder in a shipyard or related welding industry.
Required skills
- Welding proficiency.
- Familiarity with engine‑room tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment and emergency response.
