About the role
Maersk is seeking a competent Fourth Engineer to join the engine department on its advanced container vessels. The role offers the chance to develop technical knowledge and contribute to vessel performance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform engine room watch‑keeping duties as required.
- Assist the Chief Engineer during bunkering operations and ensure machinery is well maintained for optimal performance and fuel consumption.
- Report any breakdowns, failures or deviations to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer.
- Plan work and rest hours in compliance with regulations and communicate any challenges.
Required profile
- At least 6 months seatime in the Fourth Engineer rank on vessels with UMS and a minimum 20,000 BHP engine.
- Willingness to be trained, challenged and expand knowledge onboard.
Required skills
- Engine room watch‑keeping.
- Bunkering operations assistance.
- Machinery maintenance and performance monitoring.
