Water Engineer – Network Design (Manila)

About the role

Arup is seeking a Water Engineer (Network Designer) to deliver high‑quality designs for water supply, wastewater and drainage networks. Based in the Manila office, you will contribute to sustainable, resilient infrastructure using advanced hydraulic modelling and engineering judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for water, used‑water and drainage networks in line with project requirements and Arup design principles.
• Apply hydraulic principles and validate designs beyond software outputs.
• Use hydraulic modelling tools such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS and ICM to optimise network performance.
• Collaborate with peers and experts for technical reviews and ensure compliance with local and international standards.
• Manage scope and changes within assigned tasks, resolving routine issues and escalating complex ones.
• Incorporate sustainable and nature‑based solutions to enhance resilience.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings and reports for client and regulatory submissions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Sanitary or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in water, wastewater and drainage network design.
• Strong background in hydraulics and network design principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hydraulic modelling software (ICM, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS).
• Experience using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
