About the role
Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. is seeking a competent Welder with seagoing experience to join the engine department of its advanced container vessels. The role involves performing welding and repair tasks on deck and engine spaces while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Proper use and maintenance of welding machines, pneumatic and electric grinders, power saws, and bench drilling machines.
- Perform welding and repair work on deck and engine areas of container ships.
Required profile
- Minimum 12 months sea service experience as a Welder.
- Working knowledge of spoken English and basic understanding of ISM, ISPS, and security duties.
- Familiarity with PPE, emergency procedures (fire, abandon ship, man overboard, oil spill), and safety reporting.
- Certificates compliant with STCW 2010 Manila amendments.
Required skills
- Welding techniques and operation of welding machines.
- Use of pneumatic and electric grinders.
- Operation of power saws and bench drilling machines.
