About the role
Maersk is seeking a competent Third Engineer to join the engine department of its advanced container vessels. The role offers the chance to develop technical expertise while contributing to the vessel’s operational commitments.
Key responsibilities
- Perform engine room watch‑keeping duties as required.
- Carry out work routines in the assigned area under the direction of the Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
- Instruct and supervise the use of safety, environmental protection, firefighting and lifesaving equipment.
- Participate in briefing and debriefing sessions to ensure efficient teamwork.
- Plan work and rest hours, reporting any compliance challenges to senior engineers.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 months seatime in a Third Engineer rank on vessels with UMS and at least 20,000 BHP engine size.
- Willingness to be trained, challenged and expand knowledge onboard technically advanced ships.
Required skills
- Engine room watch‑keeping.
- Operation of safety, environmental protection, firefighting and lifesaving equipment.
