Technician IV – Equipment (QFN LS WB)

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking a Technician IV to support equipment used in the assembly of QFN, TQFP and SOIC packages. The role ensures equipment reliability, collaborates with operators and engineers, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily or shift reports to the Equipment Engineer.
• Monitor equipment performance, ensuring preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration are up‑to‑date.
• Collaborate with operators and engineering to resolve machine‑ and process‑related quality issues.
• Update downtime and uptime reports through the R7/R8 system.
• Participate actively in AM‑PM, 5S, and other continuous‑improvement programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
• More than 3 years of experience as an Assembly Line Sustaining Technician.
• Experience handling equipment for QFN, TQFP and SOIC package assembly.
• Knowledge of machines such as Backgrind, Wafer Saw, Die Attach, Wire Bond, molding, plating, marking and packing.
• Familiarity with quality systems (TS16949, HSPM) and failure‑analysis techniques.
• Ability to manage workload in a team‑oriented environment and handle off‑hours calls.
• Proficiency with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel).

• Equipment operation for QFN, TQFP, SOIC assemblies.
• Backgrind, Wafer Saw, Die Attach, Wire Bond, molding, plating, marking, packing machines.
• TS16949 and HSPM quality system knowledge.
• Failure analysis techniques.
• MS Word and MS Excel.
