Tax Accountant & Bookkeeper (Remote, Australia)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Tax Accountant and Bookkeeper to join our remote team. You will serve a diverse Australian client base, handling tax compliance, financial reporting, and bookkeeping using leading software.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and Australian income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
• Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS), Installment Activity Statements (IAS), PAYG submissions, and other Australian tax obligations.
• Assist with financial accounting and reporting, including payroll-related tasks.
• Perform bookkeeping for various clients using Xero, QuickBooks, and MYOB.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate, compliant client outcomes.
• Maintain high accuracy and provide proactive support to clients and teammates.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of combined experience in accounting and tax roles.
• Strong familiarity with the Australian taxation system, including BAS and IAS preparation.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proactive, problem‑solving attitude with a commitment to self‑development.
