Steward Supervisor

About the role

The Steward Supervisor will join the pre‑opening team of Mandarin Oriental Makati, a new 5‑star hotel slated to open in 2026. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and efficiency across all kitchen and back‑of‑house areas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in setting up stewarding areas, equipment and operating procedures before the hotel opens.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of stewarding staff.
• Supervise daily dishwashing, cleaning and waste‑management activities.
• Maintain sanitation standards in all kitchens and back‑of‑house zones.
• Monitor use, storage and care of cleaning chemicals, supplies and equipment.
• Assign tasks, create schedules and provide coaching to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, food‑safety and hotel hygiene standards, reporting any safety issues promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in stewarding or kitchen operations.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, sustainability and high‑quality service.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP and food‑safety regulations.
• Proficiency in managing cleaning chemicals, equipment and waste‑reduction initiatives.
