Senior Tax Officer

About the role

The Senior Tax Officer will lead the company’s tax compliance and planning for its Canadian operations. Working closely with finance teams and external advisors, you will ensure accurate filings, manage audits, and develop strategies that minimise tax liabilities while staying fully compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee timely and accurate filing of federal tax returns, including non‑resident income tax, GST/HST, and other applicable taxes.
• Coordinate with third‑party vendors to issue required Canadian tax slips.
• Develop and implement tax‑saving strategies for Canadian operations.
• Manage audits and reassessments with Canadian tax authorities.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Investor Relations to resolve tax‑related issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements for tax filing efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, business or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of tax experience in a public‑accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate, individual (resident and non‑resident), GST/HST, and transfer‑pricing regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced setting.
