Senior IT Business Analyst

About the role

As a Senior IT Business Analyst at Aurecon, you will lead the analysis, design and documentation of technology platform initiatives, ensuring robust and scalable solutions that meet program objectives and stakeholder expectations. You will work closely with business stakeholders and development teams, acting autonomously to produce high‑quality artefacts that drive decision‑making and successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder workshops and requirements‑elicitation sessions to capture business needs and translate them into user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, traceability matrices, process maps and wireframes.
• Perform current‑state assessments, gap analyses and impact evaluations to guide prioritisation.
• Analyse large volumes of usage data from 500‑600 applications, cleanse, aggregate and visualise findings into clear requirements and strategic recommendations.
• Identify, track and escalate risks, dependencies and impediments, partnering with stakeholders for timely resolution.
• Provide concise status updates, progress reports and change‑management support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Apply commercial acumen to interpret data insights, evaluate cost impacts and support budgeting decisions.
• Act as Scrum Master when required, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and continuous improvement.
