Senior Desktop Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Endpoint Engineer to own and evolve our enterprise endpoint environment across Windows and macOS. This role focuses on designing, scripting, packaging, and deploying changes at scale, acting as a Tier 3 escalation point while driving automation and minimal user disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain scripted endpoint changes for large‑scale deployment (PowerShell, shell scripts, Intune remediation).
• Package and deploy applications, configuration changes, security updates, and OS customisations across Windows and macOS.
• Develop idempotent, auditable scripts to modify settings, profiles, security baselines, certificates, registry, and system preferences.
• Define and enforce endpoint automation standards, including testing, rollback, logging, and documentation.
• Administer and secure enterprise endpoints using modern management tools (Intune MDM) and traditional controls where required.
• Manage the full device lifecycle: provisioning, enrollment, configuration, patching, and decommissioning.
• Implement and maintain compliance baselines, conditional access, and remediate configuration drift.
• Serve as final escalation point for complex endpoint, OS, policy, and identity issues.
• Collaborate with HelpDesk to create self‑healing solutions and reduce recurring incidents.
• Produce clear technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs; train technical resources.
• Work closely with Security, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to align endpoint strategy with broader automation standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years in enterprise desktop administration, endpoint engineering, or device management.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for administration, automation, and remediation.
• Proven experience delivering mass endpoint changes via scripting and automation.
• Experience supporting hybrid and remote work environments at scale.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and own complex problems.
• Engineering mindset with a focus on automation and repeatability.
