Senior Associate - Transaction Diligence

About the role

SGV, the largest professional services firm in the Philippines and a member firm of Ernst & Young, is hiring a Senior Associate in Transaction Diligence in Makati City. The role sits in Transactions and Corporate Finance, where the firm advises on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and capital raising, including financial due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring and strategic advisory. The Senior Associate reviews company financials, conducts research and identifies risks and trends related to transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in financial due diligence engagements for transactions involving private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers
• Analyse the financial and operational results of businesses to be acquired or sold by reviewing accounting records and taking part in interviews with management
• Prepare analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends affecting cash flow and deal valuation
• Perform industry and company research using online tools and publicly available information
• Assist in researching technical accounting issues and in preparing reports and schedules delivered to clients
• Work as a team member, keeping senior team members updated on progress
• Build productive working relationships with client personnel

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy or finance with at least three years of relevant work experience
• CPA license would be advantageous
• Ideally a proven record of excellence in audit and/or M&A transactions, and experience in another large professional services organization

• Strong analytical skills, able to analyse financial and non-financial information
• Presentation and report writing skills
